KlezWeCan!
August 17 – 22
3 – 6 p.m.

Klezmer Instrumental workshop for all instruments, levels and generations.

Yiddish Summer is proud to host KlezWeCan!, the inspiring and inclusive project created by Johannes Paul Gräßer with Szilvia Csaranko (D; accordion) who will lead this workshop together with Susi Evans (GB; clarinet). We’ll introduce you to some of the most beautiful melodies in the klezmer repertoire and learn about style, rhythms, modes and ornaments. Most important: joy in learning and making music together with no pressure!

For all instrumentalists, levels (including beginners) and generations, no prior experience with klezmer music necessary, but the ability to read simple melodies from sheet music and very basic learning by ear.

The Erfurt Klezmer Orchestra brings together people of different generations, personal and musical backgrounds. Amateur musicians play together with professionals and gain new cultural and musical experiences, and age differences give way to making music together.
