Yiddish Summer Weimar 2020 belongs to history!

It was a huge challenge to run live workshops, concerts and jam sessions in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. Thanks to the incredible creativity, commitment and cooperation of artists, participants, volunteers and audiences in co-creating the first ever outdoors-only Yiddish Summer Weimar from July 30 – August 23, it all came together in the end, (not to mention how lucky we were with the weather!) We are grateful to the town of Weimar and the State of Thuringia as well as to Erfurt, Eisenach, Leipzig and Niederzimmern and to all of our sponsors and partners for their support.

And in case you missed Sunday night's (Aug 30) video conference with Alan Bern interviewing Sasha Lurje and Ilya Shneyveys about their new Forshpil CD and talking about the band's history and concept, ecstasy, trance and tragic love, you can watch it here, with lots of great music and previously unseen live concert video. Enjoy!
